What is Hop Madness?
Hop Madness 2008 is a celebration of hops and their role in beer. Homebrewers come from all over the country to enjoy all that hops can offer. From brewing hop harvest ales to touring hop farms in active harvest, homebrewers can revel in all of the madness that is Hops!
Hop Madness is a 21 and older event. A valid ID is required.
When, Where, and How?
The Hop Madness festival will be held on August 30th & 31st from noon to noon.
at the Willamette Mission State Park just north of Salem. We will be camping at the Lake B camp area. See above link for directions and a trip planner or Wheatland Rd., 8 miles N of Salem or take I-5 Exit 263 and follow the signs.
Entry Fee

$10 per adult / $15 per couple, kids (under 14) free. We discourage any kids over 14 and certainly no one between 18 and 21. There is also a fee per car that enters the park ($3.00) which is separate from the Hop Madness fee of $10-$15 so car pooling is encouraged.
Food or dinner is not provided. Fresh hop bines and water will be provided for the harvest ale brewing.
What to bring?
Bring your chairs, tables, tents, sleeping bags, shade (canopies) and a little firewood and everything else you wish to make your stay enjoyable (homebrew, sodas, milk or juice for the kids, etc.). Its always nice to bring some snacks to share around the camp.
If you are planning on going on the hop tour please bring one homebrew or commercial beer to go to the hop farmers.

A tour of active Hop Harvest at a local farm (3pm on Sat)
Homebrew Contest:
Best Damn Hoppy Beer in the Pacific North-West homebrew contest.
* Overnight camping:
Bring a tent and cover just in case it rains (it is Oregon afterall).
